Terms, Conditions & FAQs
General Terms And Conditions:
-
All dogs must have an initial meet and greet appointment at our home before a daycare or boarding booking can be made.
-
All dogs must be microchipped, up to date with flea/tick/worming treatments and all required vaccinations (including kennel cough).
-
Vaccinations/boosters must have been administered at least 2 weeks before a booking.
-
All dogs over 18 months old must be neutered.
-
Un-neutered females will not be accepted when they are in season.
-
All dogs must be well behaved. They must be good with other dogs, children and cats to safely fit into our family home.
-
New dogs booking a stay of 3 nights or more are required to have a trial night beforehand.
-
If your dog shows any signs of illness, please do not bring them for daycare/boarding.
-
Unfortunately we cannot accept dogs with separation anxiety.
Payment/cancellations:
-
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. The remaining balance will then be due on the first day of the booking.
-
Any bookings cancelled with less than 5 days notice will still be charged in full.
-
Service prices are subject to change at any time.
Exercise:
-
Dogs will be taken on a long walk in the morning, minimum of 1 hour, either in the local woods, on one of the nearby beaches or in a secure enclosure.
-
Dogs will not be let off lead (unless in a secure enclosure) until a level of trust has been developed. I can use a long training lead to allow the dogs to still run with the confidence that they will be safe. This also means I cannot accept dogs that pull hard on the lead as this is not safe for me or the other dogs.
-
Dogs will be walked in small groups of 3 or 4 (usually with our resident dogs).
-
Dogs will have access to a secure rear garden at any time.
-
Lots of toys will be provided for indoor play and enrichment.
-
A second, shorter walk is usually given in the afternoon.
-
Walks will be cancelled in extreme weathers and replaced with extra enrichment.
-
Dogs will also be given times to rest to avoid becoming overstimulated.
Collars and Leads:
-
A suitable collar (with ID tag) and lead must be provided for each dog by their owner.
-
Dogs must be on lead for drop off and collection.
-
Harnesses are also preferred for securing dogs in the car when necessary.
-
ID tags will be added with The K9 Inn’s information whilst in our care.
Feeding:
-
Day Care: We prefer for dogs to be fed before and after coming to day care. Where this is not possible, arrangements can be made.
-
Boarding: Owners must provide enough of the dog’s usual food for the duration of the stay, in suitable containers. Containers must be clearly labelled with the dog’s name and clear instructions for amounts and times of feeds.
-
All dogs will have constant access to fresh drinking water.
Emergencies:
-
In case of illness or injury, owners (or emergency contact) will be contacted to discuss a health care plan and possibly be asked to collect the dog.
-
In extreme circumstances where veterinary treatment is required, owners must agree to cover all costs.
Behaviour:
-
Dogs that show aggressive/destructive behaviour, persistent barking, scent marking within the house, or other antisocial behaviours may not be accepted back.
-
In these circumstances, the owner/their emergency contact, may also be asked to collect the dog early.
Damages:
-
Owners must agree to reimburse at a reasonable cost any damages caused by their dog(s) to my home or belongings, other than reasonable wear and tear such as damaged dog toys.
-
Scent marking/toileting on furnishings will incur an additional cleaning charge.
-
Any personal items provided (beds, toys etc) are done so at the owner's own risk.
Crates:
-
If it is part of their usual routine, dogs can be crated when necessary.
-
To keep all animals on the premises safe, crates may also be used for short periods of time in an emergency.
-
I do have some spare crates but owners may be asked to bring their own if a suitable size spare is already being used.
Social Media:
-
I will occasionally post photos of your dog(s) onto my social media pages, these include Facebook and Instagram. This is a great way for you to check up on their adventures whilst they’re staying with me.
-
If you would prefer photos were not posted, please let me know.

Boarding dogs sleep in a decent size downstairs room with bedding, water and toys.

All dogs must come with:

Boarding dogs also need enough food for the duration of their stay with instructions on when and how much to give.
The rest is up to you. I have plenty of dog beds, food and water bowls, toys, treats etc for all day care and boarding dogs.
If boarding dogs would prefer to bring their own, that's absolutely fine but it is at your own risk.
